President's Award of Excellence!

Our chapter won the GOLD President’s Award of Excellence for the 2007/2008 year. Thank you to Camilla Arnds, President and her wonderful Board for making this happen. The award was presented at the ALA 37th Annual Educational Conference and Exposition, in May 2008, in Seattle, Washington.

This award recognizes chapters for their exceptional efforts in effective management. The chapter president completes a checklist where points are assigned for achievement in various categories. A chapter must have at least 3,050 points to qualify for an award category. The top category is Platinum with 6,250 points required, next is Gold at 5,550 points, then Silver with 4,750 points, followed by Bronze at 4,050 points and lastly, Honorable Mention with 3,050 points.

The categories for this award are Effective Chapter Management, Communications, Professional Development, Recruitment and Retention, and Miscellaneous Chapter Activities.

Winning this award is a great honor and indicative of our hard working Board. Thank you again to the outgoing 2007/2008 Board for your wonderful contributions and hard work over the last year.
